Kathmandu: The Socialist Front, a coalition of top leaders from CPN Maoist Center, CPN (US), Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal, and Netra Vikram Chand Biplav, formed to bolster bargaining power against the Nepali Congress, is on the brink of dissolution, largely attributed to Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.

Notably, the exclusion of influential figure Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, who originally conceived the idea, has contributed to the front's impending collapse. Initially aimed at championing Nepali socialism and ensuring a discrimination-free society, the alliance had ambitious goals of promoting constitutional implementation, economic rights, and regional development.

However, skepticism towards Prachanda's leadership has led to internal tensions. Prachanda's government's persistence in labeling the Congress and its allies as corrupt, while portraying itself as virtuous, has strained relations. This dynamic has triggered speculation about the potential downfall of Prachanda's administration.

Madhav Kumar Nepal and Upendra Yadav, leaders of CPN (US) and JSP respectively, who signed the concept paper during the front's inception, have started to lose faith in Prachanda's tactics. Amidst Prachanda's assertions, these parties are questioning their association with the government.

Significantly, JSP President Yadav's dissatisfaction with Prachanda has been apparent. The Gaur murder case has emerged as a point of contention, with accusations of Prachanda using it to manipulate JSP leadership.

As the situation unfolds, the unity of the Socialist Front hangs in the balance, prompting concerns about the fate of its goals and objectives outlined in the concept paper. Amid these internal conflicts, the landscape of Nepal's political dynamics remains uncertain.
